Shallot Is Le Creuset’s New Color

The color of the season is shallot, and people are going absolutely wild. Specifically, the audience at Le Creuset’s Tuesday press event, where a man said, “We are pleased to introduce to you all: shallot,” as two people ripped open a butcher-paper–type curtain to reveal a bunch of shallot-colored Le Creuset products. The crowd cheered. They clapped. One person audibly gasped, “I love it.”

A friend pointed out that the color is more specifically shallot interior and that they should have specified that during the reveal. I agree — I was expecting the pots to be brown. But they are a “whisper of color that hovers between pink and purple, a lavender with a touch of gray,” per the company. (These are not your normal spring neutrals, but your next-generation neutrals, Le Creuset emphasizes.) Shallot “can’t be put in a box,” they say. It can, however, be put on a pot.
